In much of Asia, especially the so﹣called "rice bowl" cultures of China and Japan, food is usually eaten with chopsticks.

Chopsticks are two long, thin pieces of wood. They are mostly made of all kinds of bamboo and wood,as well as plastic, animal bone, metal and so on.

The Chinese have been using chopsticks for five thousand years.People probably cooked their food in large pieces, using sticks to move it. Later,as population grew, people began cutting food into small pieces so it would cook more quickly.Small pieces of food could be eaten without knives,so the sticks turned into chopsticks.During the Middle Ages, people often used silver chopsticks .It was mainly because that silver would turn colour if it came into some poison(毒药).In a way, they showed they were wealthy.

Chopsticks are not used everywhere in Asia.In India and Central Asia, most people have traditionally eaten with their hands. "Forkchops" are chopsticks for some Westerners. And they put chopsticks at one end and forks and knives at the other since some of the users can't manage during the meal.

A friend advised me not to choose Slovakia though he hadn’t been there. Few guidebooks include the country.

However, I decided to take a trip to Eastern Slovakia. I always search for roads that are less traveled.

On the first day, I stayed in a hotel opposite a great church. Around the corner, there was a lively town center. Coffee shops were serving hot chocolate. The dumplings and snacks in restaurants were as delicious as any in Western Europe.

On the second day, I traveled to Spis Castle (城堡). It’s about an hour’s drive to the northwest of Kosice. Perhaps you’ve never heard of the name, but this is one of Central Europe’s largest castles. Part of it was built in the 11th century. On the castle, I saw colorful fields, villages with red roofs (屋顶) and green hills. After that, I tried some local food there.

And the best part came. After driving to the southeast, I arrived in Banska Stiavnica on the last day of my trip. It is a perfectly protected historical town. I went to a concert in a 15th-century church. At the town center, local people were celebrating a traditional festival. There were traditional shows and teaching of making dumplings. It was the most enjoyable moment of my trip.

Old towns, natural beauty, great castles and food — all at affordable prices and with no tourists crowds. Maybe it’s a time to rewrite the guidebooks.

69. What can we know about Slovakia from the first paragraph?

A. It’s easy to be found in guidebooks.

B.It’s not very popular with tourists.

C. It’s the favourite place of the writer’s friend.

D. It’s not included in the world map.

70. What did the writer do on the first two days?

A. He tried some local food.

B. He saw some castles with red roofs.

C. He stayed in the same hotel.

D. He visited the largest European castle.

71. The best part of the writer’s trip was.

A. in KosiceB. on the second day

C. joining in a festivalD. enjoying a concert

72. What may the writer say to his friend after his trip to Slovakia?

A. “Seeing is believing. You should go there with me.”

B. “Think twice before acting. You’d better not go there.”

C. “A man is never too old to learn. You should read more books.”

D. “Actions speak louder than words. You need write a guidebook yourself.”
